On January 18, 2018, the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) announced the re-opening of many of its nominee programs. OINP has been granted an extra allocation of 600 nominations for 2018, so they are expected to invite more applicants this year.

The programs that opened on January 18 are:

  • Foreign Worker Stream;
  • International Student Stream;
  • In-Demand Skills Stream;
  • Human Capital Priorities Stream;
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream;
  • Skilled Trades Stream;
  • Corporate Stream; and
  • Entrepreneur Stream.

On January 26, 2018, Ontario revealed that the CRS scores for those invited under the Human Capital Priorities stream were between 444 and 433.

This week, OINP also announced that it is accepting applications to the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate Streams. However, on the same day, OINP announced that the Masters Graduate Stream was closed. This has been an ongoing issue with the Masters Stream since last year: the program has only opened for one or two days at a time, meaning applicants to this stream must constantly check OINP’s website for updates.

Anyone interested in applying for permanent residence through OINP should have their profiles active early in the year, as these programs fill up at the beginning of the year.

If you are interested in learning more about any of these programs, please contact us to schedule a consultation.
